Phase I Prostabel® Clinical Trial We are pleased to share with you that a clinical trial sponsored by Natural Source International Ltd focusing on men with elevated PSA levels is currently underway at Columbia University. Under the direction of Aaron Katz, MD, Director of the Center for Holistic Urology at Columbia University, and a well-known pioneer in the field of natural treatment for prostate problems, the clinical trial is measuring the efficacy of Prostabel® in lowering PSA levels. Prostabel® is a blend of Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria. Columbia University researchers were able to verify in the lab (first in vitro, then in vivo – work which was conducted from 2003 to 2005) that both extracts inhibited the growth of cancer cells by different mechanisms of action and at different points in the cellular replication cycle. This supports the reasoning behind the combination of both extracts and indicates potential for synergy in Prostabel®. These promising preclinical results shown by the Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria extracts prompted the Columbia University group to initiate a Phase I clinical trial. This trial is for men with negative prostate biopsy and elevated PSA, with the goal of helping men lower their PSA levels. If you would like to be a part of this research, the clinical trial is still open to new participants. Kindly direct your calls to Geovanni Espinosa, ND, Director of Clinical Trials, Department of Holistic Urology, Columbia University. Dr. Espinosa can help you determine whether you are eligible to participate and to therefore receive a free supply of Prostabel®.
Dr. Katz’s research group published their first preclinical study on our Rauwolfia vomitoria extract in the International Journal of Oncology (Vol. 29: 1065-1073, 2006). Read it at pubmed.gov |
